I gennerally make this of black, brown, or tweed wool or wool blend, but if you have other thoughts, I would be glad to entertain them.

I have found an occasional source for wonderful wool, but I never know what I am going to be able to get. This cape is very old Celtic in it's look, with deep hood and front button closure. I use more fabric than one would usually find, so it falls in soft folds around the shoulders all of the way to the floor.

Choices

Colors vary according to what I find available from my fabric jobber. As of January 2000, I have Black, Maroon, Navy, Rust and these colors in stock. I will probably forget to change this when I score some new fabric, so check with me before getting your heart set on something.
Some people (like me) hate arm slits, some people feel that they are mandatory, so I offer them as an option ($10 extra.)
For $60 I will make this cape in your fabric. Send me a 4"x4" scrap of the fabric so I can see if it will work well for the cape. It requires 5 yards of fabric, and 1 more yard for the hood lining.

Hooded WOOBIE (aka Flannel Dawn Cloak)

Great for men, women, and little kids too. Wear in front of the bon fire, or on your couch. I make the woobie from the Flannel Sheet Blankets for a soft, warm wrap.

For costuming, this would be appropriate for a begger, or poor workman. But you will want to use it year round, not just put this away in your costume trunk.

It's nubby looking, giving the look of some desert creature from Star Wars.

Available in all COLORS, but the Black, Forest, Maroon, and Brown are the best for period wear.
