How to Place an Order
The Short Answer:
Send your order by Email mail, or call 707-575-8924
Make sure to include:
· Name
· Shipping Address
· Items you want, their size and color
· Desired payment method: Mastercard, Visa, check, or money order
· The billing address for your credit card if different from the shipping address
The Longer
Answer:
If you feel the need for a form, print out THE FORM, or copy it’s information into an email.
The Explanation:
I hate electronic shopping carts. I
hate filling out stupid electronic forms. Yes, I have the technical skill to
put one into my web site, but they’re icky, and slow, and they don’t work for
people with older browsers.
And besides I like to interact with YOU. Your questions and comments are
important to me. (Yes this is really me doing this, not my staff of hundreds of
underpaid warehouse workers loading plastic wrapped stuff sewn by children and
underpaid women in some sweat shop.)
Shipping and Handling:
The Short Answer
I usually use the post office, but I will use UPS for bigger items, or on request.
I use the following rates, but I may charge less for small items.
· $1-$15………….$6.00
· $15-$30………….$7.00
· $31-$60………...$8.00
· $61-$100……….$9.00
· over $101………$10.00
· Out of US, postal rates apply, or send me a plane ticket for personal delivery.
Shipping if in stock is usually a week or two. If I need to sew it, or I am on the road, up to six weeks.
The Long Answer and The Explanation:
The cost is not just postage, it
includes the credit card fees, the price of the tape and labeling, the 800
call, and time going to the post office. (You’d be surprised how freaked out
some people get because the numbers on the stamps are less than the amount they
sent for shipping. Actually sometimes my costs are more than the shipping
amount!)
I usually ship in recycled boxes, or the Priority soft mailers. I don’t use
fancy, pre-printed boxes, layers of tissue, or styrofoam peanuts, partly
because I hate the ecological ramifications, partly because I don’t want to
spend the extra money and force my prices up.
If I have something in stock, I ship it as quickly as I can, heck I need the
money. But I do not keep a large stock, many things have to be sewn and/or
dyed. It is precicely this lack of ready made stock that allows me to make the
kind of unique and special garments that you want. I need to be able to give
your order the time and attention that it deserves. And besides I am doing this
all myself, and doing my Mom stuff, and showing the clothes at shows, give me a
break!
Returns
The Only Answer:
It is important to me that you
enjoy the clothing that I make for you. If you aren’t happy, you won’t buy more
clothes or tell your friends about me.
If you don’t like it, return it for a refund or exchange for the full price of
the item. (Custom sewing or unusual dye jobs not refundable, but I will tell
you ahead of time that this applies.)
I ask that you do so within 30 days, and that it be in unused condition.
If a flaw develops, of course I want to remedy the problem. (Although the woman
that complained that the leotard was defective because it was wearing out after
using it twice a week for two years didn’t get a lot of sympathy from me.)
